Syntheia Product Update: July 2026
This post is a few weeks late.
It was not a quiet month on the product front… but I have been traveling all over the world. The bigger news is not the product updates for July, but the broader brand and product realignment based on our discussions with users on their needs:
Super Comparer → this is now Syntheia Compare
Fund Curator (and the KM parts of the Content Portal) → this is now Syntheia Curate
Datafy API (and the search engine part of Content Portal) → these are now Syntheia Query
Smart Drafter → this will soon be folder under Syntheia Compare
Email Agents → this comes under Syntheia Services, because we have learnt that this not something law firms can typically plug and play
New Features
MFN Excel Export
MFN tables in Syntheia Curate can now be exported straight to an Excel spreadsheet.
Bulk Tagging for Provisions
Select multiple provisions and tag them all in one action, instead of one at a time.
"Uploaded By" Filter
New filter in the Documents app — useful for finding every document uploaded by a colleague who's since moved on.
DOCX Compare Preview
Docx files can be instantly compared in the web app, and shown in preview, with the ability to download the output as docx, PDF, or changed pages only.
Improvements
Multi-row editing in Matrix Reports — select multiple rows at once (shift-click works) and merge, insert, or delete them together. The Simple Compare grid now behaves a lot more like Excel.
Right-click row menus — in Compendium and Matrix reports, right-click anywhere on a provision row to open its actions menu, rather than hunting for the three-dot icon.
Faster large reports — Concept Compare is noticeably quicker on large reports, and reports containing very large documents no longer fail to generate.
Word export polish — exported Word documents now include page numbers, and text recognition on scanned documents has improved.
Split Cell action — a new option in the Compendium cell menu lets you divide a cell's content in two.
Smarter Compendium defaults — Open as Compendium now suggests a default family and variant depth automatically, based on the clauses in the documents themselves.
Fund object restructure — all Fund functionality now lives under a single 'Fund' object within Syntheia Curate.
Multiple tags per fund — funds can carry more than one tag, the same way documents do. Tags are edited from a new side panel.
Compendium documents panel — clear add/remove icons replace the old checkboxes.
Zip upload reliability — zip uploads no longer skip documents, and duplicate files are now caught.
Document Index API — bulk clause text has moved to /clauses, and nodeId has been renamed clauseId.
This release is fully backwards compatible — nothing required on your end for existing workspaces, compendia, templates, or integrations.
Coming Soon
